Celebrate this Valentines Day with the ultimate in decadence and romance: a homemade “Amora” brownie!
These sinfully delicious dark chocolate brownies are so simple to make. Just scroll down for our tried and tested, easy-to-follow recipe.
For extra “brownie points”, we have suggested the perfect partner caramel sauce: the softly voluptuous sea salt caramel or the wickedly sensual figs & red wine caramel. Daringly different but equally divine in flavour, either delicious sauce brings complete balance to the relationship.
The perfect dessert for a romantic dinner, the ideal accompaniment for a snuggly movie on the sofa, or as a smouldering extra in a “50 Shades of Grey” meets “91/2 weeks” food fetish fantasy (steady on!!! – Ed) … however you celebrate it, your beloved will truly feel the love!
Happy Valentines Day to lovers everywhere!
Recipe & Method
Dark Chocolate Brownies
AuBel Dark 70% Chocolate =250g
Unsalted Butter =200g
Golden Caster Sugar =250g
Eggs (medium) = 4
Plain Flour, sifted = 80g
Heat oven to 170°C, then line a 30x20cm tin. Melt the butter and chocolate together, then add to the sifted flour and sugar. Gently mix all. Lastly add the whisked eggs and mix thoroughly. The mixture should have a nice smooth consistency, like a rich dark brown ganache. Pour the mixture into a prepared tin and bake in the oven at 170°C (fan) for 25-30 mins. The cooked brownie should wobble in the centre. Once the cake is completely cooled, remove from the tin. Cut the brownie slab into four equal parts and then press the heart shape cutters into one of the four sections. Now very carefully press out the cake from the cutters.
